A Comfort kit is a kit for children and adults that find themselves in a situation at a hospital that may require a needle or examination from a doctor or nurse.
The Comfort Kits are designed to help the child or adult to overcome initial fear or worry about the needle or exam and hopefully let them know that someone like Cody is out there for them!
When Cody was younger he too had to endure needles and examinations and he wanted his own toys to make him feel better! The Comfort Kits will hopefully make the child or adult feel a little brighter especially if they are in the emergency room.
All too often when a child is sick or needs the ER immediately, the last thing on the parents mind is to bring teddy, or the favourite toy or soother! We know this because it happened to Cody! We forgot his teddy and did not have time to go back for it!
Now, the parents won't have to worry about such things because Cody provides all the basic needs to make a child feel better even for a few minutes.
The parents also feel better that their child will receive a Comfort Kit from Cody and that small things like a needle will not seem as daunting to them as the nurses can take their minds off of the dreaded exam with a kit from the lad himself.
We rely on donated items to make our fundraising auction a success!
